Maryland
In Maryland, even if you are not required to file 1040 with the IRS, you may still have to file a state
filing with Maryland only. If you have any questions, you may access more information at the following link:

PART-YEAR RESIDENT:
If you are filing as a part-year resident in Maryland, this means if you have ever established residency in
Maryland during the calendar year, you will be required to file Form 502. You may be required to file with
the state that your residence is in when filing your taxes.
NON-RESIDENT:
If you are filing as a non-resident for Maryland, you will be required to file Form 505NR, the only way not
to file as a Maryland non-resident is if your gross income is less than the minimum filing level for your
filing status. If you did not have any other income from Maryland and/or reside in any of the following
states: Virginia, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., and West Virginia and you only had earned wages in
Maryland, then you are considered a non-resident. If you have any questions, you may visit the following
