This states that if you maintain your residence in the state of Minnesota for the entire year and you meet the requirements of minimum earned income of $12,525 for tax year 2021, then you are required to file Form M1. PART-YEAR RESIDENT:

This states that if you lived in the state of Minnesota for less than 183 consecutive days, you are required to file Form M1 NR. If you are employed with a company that is in Minnesota but are working out of state, that earned income is not taxable in Minnesota. If you have any questions, you may access the Minnesota Department of Revenue guidelines.

NON-RESIDENT:

This states that if you lived in the state of Minnesota for less than 183 consecutive days and/or only received earned income while your legal residence is in another state, then you are required to file Form M1 NR.
