PART-YEAR RESIDENT:
This states that you lived in Maine for a short period of time and/or you were in and out of Maine for the
entire year. You are required to file Form 1040ME and Schedule NR or NRH with a copy of federal tax return.

NON-RESIDENT:
This states that you are not a resident of Maine, but you have earnings from property that you own, and you
are required to file with the state of Maine for the capital gain of the property and/or properties. You are
required to file with the state of Maine if you have any earned income from any source that is in the state
of Maine. You are required to file Form 1040ME and Schedule NR or NRH with a copy of your federal tax
return. You will also need to file in that state that you have your permanent residence as well. If you have
