This form is further divided into various schedules for different claims that include schedules 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Excise_Tax_Claim_Schedules\"><\/span><strong>Excise Tax Claim Schedules<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Schedule_1\"><\/span><strong>Schedule 1:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The purchaser of gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), aviation gasoline, kerosene (other than kerosene used in aviation), diesel fuel, and kerosene used in commercial aviation, claim Schedule 1 by filing a refund.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Requirements_of_Schedule_1\"><\/span><strong>Requirements of Schedule 1:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Claims placed for the fuel used for the nontaxable purpose only.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>1 claim per quarter is permitted.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The minimum amount for filing a claim must be at least $ 750.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Schedule_2\"><\/span><strong>Schedule 2:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Vendors who are registered for undyed kerosene, undyed diesel fuel, and kerosene used in aviation, aviation gasoline, and gasoline can file Schedule 2 in order to claim a refund. A registered vendor must hold a registration number while filing Schedule 2.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Requirements_of_Schedule_2\"><\/span><strong>Requirements of Schedule 2:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Those mentioned fuels, which is sold during a period of at least 1 week.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The claim amount must be at least $ 200 and for some fuel, the minimum amount is $ 100.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Schedule_3\"><\/span><strong>Schedule 3:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Requirements_of_Schedule_3\"><\/span><strong>Requirements of Schedule 3:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>The person who must be registered with the IRS.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The claim must be for alternative fuel sold or used during a period of at least 1 week.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The claim must be at least $ 200 unless it is filed electronically.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Schedule_5\"><\/span><strong>Schedule 5:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The individuals who paid and reported a section 4081 tax to the government on taxable fuel use file schedule 5 in order to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tax2efile.com\/blog\/how-form-8849-will-affect-your-2290-form\/\">claim a refund of tax<\/a>. It is important to know that, if two taxes are paid on the fuel for which the claim is filed, then the claim for refund of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> tax must be made.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>An individual who reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tax2efile.com\/efile-8849-form\/irs-form-720-quarterly-federal-excise-tax-return\">Form 720<\/a> previously and paid the 2nd tax to the government qualifies to claim a refund.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Requirements_of_Schedule_5\"><\/span><strong>Requirements of Schedule 5:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>File the claim within 3 years from the time the second tax is filed or\u00a0 2 years from the period the second tax to the government, whichever is later.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Schedule_6\"><\/span><strong>Schedule 6:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Claim a refund on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tax2efile.com\/efile-2290-form\">Form 2290<\/a>, 720, 730, and Form 11-C through Form 8849 Schedule 6.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Requirements_of_Schedule_6\"><\/span><strong>Requirements of Schedule 6:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>File the claim within 3 years of the filing of the return to which the claim relates or 2 years from the reported tax on that return was paid, whichever is later. Under schedule 6 we can claim the refund of excise tax forms such as Form 720, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tax2efile.com\/efile-8849-form\/irs-form-730-monthly-tax-return-for-wagers\">Form 730<\/a>, Form 2290, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tax2efile.com\/efile-8849-form\/irs-form-11-c-occupational-tax-and-registration-return-for-wagering\">Form 11-C<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Schedule_8\"><\/span><strong>Schedule 8:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Registered Credit card Issuers can file a claim for refund or payment of tax paid on certain sales of taxable fuel such as kerosene, gasoline, and diesel fuel under Schedule 8 to the state and local government and certain sales of gasoline to non-profit educational organizations.
