1040 Tax Extension
To request an automatic extension of time to file Form 1040, the user can
file Form 4868 electronically by accessing Tax2efile.com.
The user has the option to pay using the Tax2efile website or mobile app. Be sure to have a copy of your tax
return. Use Form 4868 to apply for 6 more months to file Form 1040!
The user doesn’t need to file Form 4868 if they make a payment using Tax2efile payment options. The IRS will automatically process
an extension of time to file when the user pays part or all of the estimated income tax electronically.
